Spacemen 3 Reunion show video
Whilst some were jumping around to acid house music at the end of the eighties, others were listening to Spacemen 3, setting the tone for the beginning of shoegaze. If you were in either, or both camps, it was an indulgent drugfest to say the least. Although not quite as out there in 2010 Spacemen 3 reunited a few weeks back to play a benefit show in London. Slicing Up Eyeballs reports that the band, although missing co-leader Jason Pierce (who went on to form Spiritualized), performed with a line up including My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields.
The line up consisted of Co-founder Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember, ex-bandmates Will Carruthers, Jonny Matlock and Mark Refoy, as well as Jason Holt of Kember’s band Spectrum, Kevin Shields and Pat Fish of Jazz Butcher.
