Record Club is an informal meeting of various musicians to record an album in a day. Masterminded by Beck it mixes a wide range of musical backgrounds and has entertained artists including James Gatson, Feist and Jeff Tweedy (WILCO). Its an ambitious project to say the least but with a wealth of experienced musicians all seems to come together quite nicely.

The latest album selected is grandiose keyboard artist Yanni’s ‘Live at The Acropolis’. On the track ‘Swept Away’ we are treated to Thurston Moore letting rip alongside heavyweight artists playing in a slightly different vein to Sonic Youth (!). Although unsure what direction this was headed (as if I didn’t know?) it ends up putting a huge smile on my face and going somewhere, well, rather special.
