Endless cool art, illustration and music stuff comes out of the London Blog Itdrewitself and now they’ve made a beautiful video to! Produced with Tape Club Records and featuring Peter Lyons on backing vocals and guitar this is a lovely acoustic rendition of ‘Half Empty’.

After the best part of a decade, Big Scary Monsters Records, the little DIY label from Oxford, hits three figures today, Tuesday 7th September with the release of ‘Partied Hard’, a DVD/CD double pack celebrating the wonderful bands who have passed through their doors since it’s 2001 inception.

On the track ‘Swept Away’ we are treated to Thurston Moore letting rip alongside heavyweight artists playing in a slightly different vein to Sonic Youth. Although unsure what direction this was headed (as if I didn’t know?) it ends up putting a huge smile on my face and going somewhere rather special.

“It took many tries to get the feel right because the song has many textures and moods and is fairly long. The end result is a combination of stop-motion and digital video … You come home to unwind and your mind begins to wander into a dizzying fantasy land…

The self proclaimed ‘sad’ musical genius Chilly Gonzales performs an awesome take on Daft Punks ‘Something About Us’. Gonzales returns with his first official UK full length release since Solo Piano in 2006 with Ivory Tower. The new album is also companion to a feature film of the same name starring Tiga and Peaches as well as himself.

Arcade Fire played an intimate show at London’s Hackney Empire on 7th July this year. Anyone lucky enough to get tickets will probably recognise themselves in the audience during this video, which does leave you wanting to be there, and wanting more…

Londons slacker trio Let’s Wrestle have just signed to Full Time Hobby who will re-issue their debut album ‘ In The Court Of Wrestling Let’s’ as a double cd on the 2nd November. The new version is a glorious 2 CD set which repackages their debut LP with another CD collecting together the band’s previously hard to find early singles and EP’s.
