Beat Of The Week // Knesset

The Knesset debut album ‘Coming Of Age’ is a wonderful record that I’m finding it hard to stop listening to, full of well written and carefully crafted songs. Their sound is one full of expansive melodies, lush vocals, and dreamy pop hooks, yet all delivered with a quiet confidence.

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Knesset used the private studio of local musician and instrument collector Mitchell Manger (who subsequently joined the ensemble on mallet percussion and keys), to hone their sound with his inimitable collection of rare instruments and recording equipment. The band is driven by principle songwriter and vocalist Evan Fox, and also features a second guest drummer Michael Bell from Lymbyc Systym (which you can watch a live show of here), who contributed to three songs on the album.

Enjoy the above ‘Bitter Hearts’ taken from the album (mixed by John Congleton—St.Vincent, The Walkmen), which is out now via Japanese label & Records or via the bands site here.
